100-plus Weight Angler Location Date Ulua 118.1 lbs Bruce Bello Jr. Hawaii 07/12/07 Bruce Bello Jr. was fishing a remote area on the Big Island of Hawaii during the 2007 Hilo Casting Club Tournament with his friend Bill Fujimoto when he caught this ulua. The trip had been a tough and expensive one for the guys after Bill broke the axle of his new pickup but it was all worth it! Bruce caught his fish during the dawn patrol after he slid a fat palani about 3 lbs that Bill had caught. Bruce used a 13-foot Talon rod, Newell 646 reel and 80-lb test Maxima line to defeat his huge ulua.
