Bottom Fish Weight Angler Location Date Pink Snapper (Opakapaka) 21 lbs Jubilee Logan Niihau 11/11/2022 I was fishing solo off of Niihau when I caught this huge opakapaka. Didn't know it was a potential state record until I brought my day's catch in to the United Fish Agency and Jay-Ar Mariano brought it to my attention. I was using anchovies for bait, with 100-lb Blood line and 80-lb hooks. The depth was 95 fathoms. Been fishing all my life and never applied for a State Record - Mahalo HFN!
