Wednesday, September 16, 2020; It was a nice day bottom fishing around the island of Ni`ihau aboard the FV Yukie-Lynn. We were dropping deep, 160 fathoms catching nice size Onaga for dinner when this MONSTER came up on my 100# test line. The crew and I all looked at each other and we were in shock! It was huge! Everybody was excited.
Caught with akule bait on a Seaguar Bottom Reel. All the way home we were thinking "How heavy is this fish?" When we arrived home we put it on a scale and weighed it @ Tropics Fish Kauai and it weighed in at....34.3 pounds.
