I really love to fish!Ive been fishing all my life with my Dad, who has passed down fishing traditions of our culture. l am told I live up to my name which means the fisherman with eyes from the cliffs. I have a passion for fishing,diving and anything related to the ocean. Recently I was invited on my uncles boat to dive and fish!!! So anxious for the trip I could not sleep!! Totally excited to go but the tide was too low to get out the river mouth!! An hour later The tide has risen so we launched out to my uncles spot he calls the honey hole! Finally we arrive to find out the water was a little rough and really windy! We were warned that there might be Portuguese mana wars so be careful!! After a while Aunty niecey got stung! So we all decided to change spots! And maybe do some bottom fishing!! After checking a few dive spots with poor conditions, the choice left was to bottom fish!! We dropped jigs In desperate need of fish to make it worthy of this trip! So my turn to drop!!! About 300 foot drop finally reached bottom, I crank up a few times then started to jig when I fell this huge bite!!!! So I set the hook and I did it with such grace!!!! so pumped & excited I fight this fish not knowing whats on the other end of the line!!! As I keep on it Im praying to god and asking him to help me land whatever I caught!! As the fight continues I am also hoping wishing this fish is a prize fish!! So minutes later Im exhausted but still adrenaline rush flows through me and then!!!!! My best friend Bohdis lacock yells out I see color , here it comes!!! As the fish gets closer to the boat Bohdi yells out, oh my goshhh!!!! Its a weke Nono!!! And there it was on the surface!! I was so excited and happy! Then I pulled it into the boat!!! A sign of relief and joy I felt... I could not believe the size of this fish!!! Thank you uncle barame & Aunty nice I will never forget the awesome trip with you guys!!! Mahalo!!!
