It was a hot, sunny Thursday afternoon in Pahala, Kau. Id just finished
working on my Papas coffee farm, and my cousins and I decided to
head down to Punaluu Black-sand Beach.
When we got to Punaluu, we drove in the back toward Nenue Island.
I walked along the beach with my 7-foot net that I got from Hana Paa
Hawaii until I found the perfect spot.
I watched the waves roll in as I waited for the perfect time to throw.
Once that perfect wave came, I threw my net. I paipai (slapped) the
water and then picked up my net.
As I was picking up my net, I noticed an api (whitespotted surgeonfish).
The excitement that came when I noticed how big the fish was made
me smile from ear to ear. When I got home, I couldnt wait to show my
mom and my sisters!
